At Meraki Artistry I offer three different styles of Eyeliner: Traditional/Lash Line Enhancement, Eyeliner with Wing and Shaded Eyeliner.
Traditional Eyeliner/ Lash Line Enhancement
Lash line enhancement and traditional eyeliner are both a type of cosmetic tattoo.
Lash line enhancement are a smaller line strictly in the lash line, with this it creates an illusion of a fuller lash line and definition of the eyelid itself.
Traditional eyeliner is similar to a lash line enhancement but with a thicker line. Eyeliner will go through the lash line and above it slightly.
Both eyeliner and lash line enhancements can be done in a color besides black. Optional bottom eyeliner is available. Cost as an add on in addition to top is $100.
Can last 1-5 years, Color boost may be needed after 2 years.
Eyeliner with a wing is a type of cosmetic tattoo. Similar to traditional eyeliner but adding more extending up to the crease of your eyelid. Wing can be customized in thickness and curve. Wing cannot exceed the crease of your eyelid. Optional bottom eyeliner is available. Cost as an add on in addition to top is $100.
Can last 1-5 years, Color boost may be needed after 2 years.
Eyeliner with Wing
Shaded eyeliner is a cosmetic tattoo creating the illusion of a smokey eye. Wing can be customized in thickness and curve. Wing cannot exceed the crease of your eyelid. After eyeliner tattoo your eyes may swell or redden because of the delicate skin and sensitive areas, some clients feel it is best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedure.
No eyelash extension 1 week before wait at least 2 weeks weeks after your touchup session to have them re applied.
No mascara on the day of the procedure. It is best to have your eyes free of makeup and moisturizer. Too much wax based makeup affects the healing process and pigment implantation.
No contact lenses, bring glasses in case you cannot wear your contact lenses after the procedure.
If you have had any type of eye surgery, including Cataract, Lasik, blepharoplasty within the last 3 months, you must get medical clearance from your physician.
Avoid lash tinting, perming, or curling 2 weeks before and can be done 2 weeks after.
Stop using lash serums, especially Latisse 4 weeks prior to your procedure. The reason is that those types of serums are stimulants. They will make your eyelids too fragile and vascular for cosmetic tattooing
**If you have a previous eyeliner tattoo you need to send us a photo.** Failure to do so can result in cancellation of appointment and loss of deposit.
If you are pregnant, you cannot have permanent makeup done, and you will be rescheduled.
Do not take any blood thinners the morning of your appointment, you may resume after your appointment. Blood thinners include Aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, omegas, vitamin E, and more. Non-anticoagulant pain relievers, such as Tylenol, can be taken. You must be off any antibiotics for 2-4 weeks before your appointment. Do not discontinue any medications prescribed by a physician or any necessary for your health (but some medications may be a contraindication with receiving permanent makeup).
Do not exercise the day of your appointment. This can increase your blood flow and affect your results and retention.
Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. Do not consume any caffeine for 12 hours before your appointment. This includes de-caffeinated teas and coffee, caffeinated soda, most pre-workouts, and some supplements. Alcohol and caffeine will increase your blood flow and affect your results and retention.
Permanent makeup cannot be performed within six months of any chemo or radiation treatments. Permanent makeup cannot be performed over sunburns or freshly tanned skin, including from tanning beds or natural light. You will be rescheduled if you arrive for your appointment with a sunburn or freshly tanned face.

You may experience some swelling within the first 24hrs, swelling is normal and should reside within the next day.
DURING INITIAL HEALING (1-7 days +/-):
No picking or scratching at your eyes. If you experience any scabbing during the healing process, do not pick the scabs at all; let them come off on their own. If a scab comes off prematurely, you risk having a gap of missing pigment. Doing so can result in loss of pigment and/or scarring.
No makeup such as mascara, eyeshadow, foundation ect. Only the provided soap and healing balm should be applied during that time.
No sweating. No strenuous workouts for the first 72hrs.
No direct sunlight or tanning beds for 2 weeks. If you are going to be out in the sun, wear a hat. If you are in the sun, your pigment will alter in color, and it will also affect your retention.
No sauna, hot tub, pool, or ocean. You cannot be around the steam from a sauna or hot tub, and you cannot swim in the pool or ocean. If you are going to be pool or oceanside (with a hat & avoiding sweating), make sure you cannot be splashed by the water, and make sure if your hands touch the water that they do not then touch your eyes.
Do not have lash extensions applied for 2 weeks following your appointment.

DURING INITIAL HEALING (10-14 days +/-):
No sweating. No strenuous workouts, and do your best to stay cool/not get overheated in general. Your sweat glands are directly under where pigment is implanted in your brows. If you sweat, the salt in your sweat will severely reduce your retention, and what's left of the pigment will turn more grey in color. If you start to sweat, damage is already being done (meaning: do not workout until the point of sweating and then stop...do not sweat at all.)
No direct sunlight or tanning beds. If you are going to be out in the sun, wear a hat; sunglasses are not enough protection.
No picking or scratching your eyes. If you experience any flaking during the healing process, do not pick the flakes at all; let them come off on their own. If a flake comes off prematurely, you risk having a gap of missing pigment. If your eyes itch during the healing process, you can tap or pat your brows with clean hands; do not scratch them.
Try to avoid sleeping on your side or face. If you are a side sleeper, it is recommended to roll up a t-shirt or hand towel to wedge between your chin and shoulder to avoid your brows resting on your pillow. Another precaution to take would be to sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase to avoid any friction on your brows if they were to end up on your pillow.
Do not allow hot water on your eyes, and avoid any steam. You can still take a comfortably warm shower, but it is recommended to leave the bathroom vent on to avoid steam, and keep your head tilted back so warm/hot water does not touch your eyes.
Do not have any product or makeup in/on your brows other than the aftercare products given to you. This includes haircare, makeup, and skin care. Be mindful of hair products such as hairspray and dry shampoo. You can wash your face and apply makeup surrounding the eyes like normal, just be very cautious of your eyes.
Do not allow anything abrasive on your eyes during healing such as towels, wash cloths, clothes while getting dressed, etc.
TO HELP MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF YOUR EYELINER
Avoid any sun exposure without sunscreen on your brows. SPF 30+ is recommended, and sunscreen in makeup or skin care is typically not sufficient. Make sure to reapply your sunscreen often throughout the day. Not protecting your eyeliner from the sun or tanning bed will fade your eyeliner quicker and has the potential to alter the color of the pigment.
Avoid any anti-aging, anti-acne, or exfoliating products on your eyelids; they can all cause faster fading. If getting a facial, chemical peel, etc., let the service provider know you have had your eyeliner done and to avoid with any active ingredients. Ingredients to avoid Include (but may not be limited to): retinol, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid.
After you have had your initial appointment and 6-12 week touch up, there is not a set time that you will need to come back to get your eyeliner done. As long as you are still happy with your eyeliner, you do not need to come back. At least 50% fading is required before coming back.

I have never had a client say there is "pain." It has been described as a scratch, annoying, a vibration and even a tickle. More often than not clients will fall asleep

When you arrive I will go over your consents, take a photo of your ID.
We will then go over your needs, what you are looking for and any inspirational photos you brought. Once we agree on a game plan I will take before photos.
Next I will clean the eye area and begin mapping if you are getting a wing/shaded eyeliner. Sometime mapping can be the longest part of this process. Once mapping is finished and you give the green light on the shape I will get started with the tattoo portion.
I will walk you through each part of the eyeliner while I work. Once the eye has even saturation I will then apply a numbing agent. I'll repeat this on the other side as well. Typically 3-4 passes over each eye then we are done!
I'll show you the final work, take after pictures, go over the aftercare kit and schedule next appointments.
Healing on AVERAGE is 7 days, BUT the healing process will be however long it takes YOU to heal. Each person heals differently. With that being said, it is possible for you to finish before 7 days or take longer than 7 days.
