What is Nano?
Nano is a technique also referred to as machine strokes. A tattoo cartridge composed of 1 or more needles is used to create tiny pixels. Together those tiny pixels are combined making hair strokes, shading and fine details. All together you are left with a soft, hyper realistic brow. Nano is suitable for all skin types, whereas microblading isnβt ideal. All skin types that are candidates for pmu are able to have nano done as well.
Less trauma to the skin, we are making tiny scratches vs. making tiny incisions.
Suitable for all ages (18+) and skin types
Saturation can be built up to color desired.
More room for intricate details with machine strokes as we are not opening the skin.
Can last 3+ years.
Benefits to Nano:
Who is NOT a candidate?
Clients with skin conditions in the brow area (eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, dermatitis).
Pregnant or breastfeeding, will need to wait until months post breastfeeding to have any tattoo.
Clients on chemotherapy or accutane need to be off of these for at least 1 year.
Prone to keloid scarring

If you are pregnant, you cannot have permanent makeup done, and you will be rescheduled.
Do not take any blood thinners the morning of your appointment, you may resume after your appointment. Blood thinners include Aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, omegas, vitamin E, and more. Non-anticoagulant pain relievers, such as Tylenol, can be taken.
You must be off any antibiotics for 2-4 weeks before your appointment. Do not discontinue any medications prescribed by a physician or any necessary for your health (but some medications may be a contraindication with receiving permanent makeup).
Do not exercise the day of your appointment. This can increase your blood flow and affect your results and retention.
Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
Do not consume any caffeine for 8 hours before your appointment. This includes de-caffeinated teas and coffee, caffeinated soda, most pre-workouts, and some supplements. Alcohol and caffeine will increase your blood flow and affect your results and retention.
Avoid any brow hair removal (tweezing, threading, waxing, etc.) before your appointment*. As long as possible is recommended, but at least one week is required. It is best to see how your brows naturally grow to blend the permanent makeup with your brows seamlessly and keep your brows as low maintenance as possible. *This mainly goes for initial appointments and color boosts.
Botox and any filler/injections anywhere near your forehead or eyes needs to be avoided for at least two weeks before and after your permanent makeup brow appointment to avoid altering the shape or location of your brow pigment.
Skin treatments such as Retina-A, Retinol, or Glycolic Acid thin the skin and must be discontinued 30 days prior to your brow appointment. Accutane users must be off Accutane for at least one year.
Permanent makeup cannot be performed within six months of any chemo or radiation treatments.
Permanent makeup cannot be performed over sunburns or freshly tanned skin, including from tanning beds or natural light. You will be rescheduled if you arrive for your appointment with a sunburn or freshly tanned face.

The most important part of the healing process is that you TRUST the process.
The healing stages you experience after getting your brows done will not be as dramatic as the photos above. I like to send all of my clients home with this visual because it is helpful to be able to understand each step of healing and how you may feel during each stage. I repeat: your brows will not look this dramatic.
When you first get your brows done, they may look a little more "fresh" and bold because the pigment is on top of your skin and hasn't healed in your skin yet. The final result of your brows will be a bit softer and lighter.
The first couple days your brows will be at their boldest and darkest, and they may have a "warm" tint to the color; the color cools down and neutralizes within the first couple days. In order to ensure your brows won't heal grey, extra warmth is added to your brows initially.
Some clients experience light flaking (equivalent to dry skin flakes) and may feel their brows look patchy during this stage. It may occur during the Day 5-10 mark like in the photo, it may happen a couple days later, or it may not happen at all.
After your brows are "healed" (after 10-14 days), your brows will be at their lightest, and they will likely feel underwhelming. More color will return as your skin continues healing and regenerating over the next few weeks.
If you are a new client, you will have a perfecting touch up 6-12 weeks after your initial appointment. You will need to follow the same before care, and you will experience the same aftercare and healing process. The healing process after your touch up will be milder since we will be building on the foundation of your first appointment, but you will still need to follow the same aftercare guidelines.

DURING INITIAL HEALING (10-14 days +/-):
No sweating. No strenuous workouts, and do your best to stay cool/not get overheated in general. Your sweat glands are directly under where pigment is implanted in your brows. If you sweat, the salt in your sweat will severely reduce your retention, and what's left of the pigment will turn more grey in color. If you start to sweat, damage is already being done (meaning: do not workout until the point of sweating and then stop...do not sweat at all.)
No direct sunlight or tanning beds. If you are going to be out in the sun, wear a hat; sunglasses are not enough protection. If you are in the sun, your pigment will alter in color, and it will also affect your retention.
No sauna, hot tub, pool, or ocean. You cannot be around the steam from a sauna or hot tub, and you cannot swim in the pool or ocean. If you are going to be pool or oceanside (with a hat & avoiding sweating), make sure you cannot be splashed by the water, and make sure if your hands touch the water that they do not then touch your brows.
No picking or scratching your brows. If you experience any flaking during the healing process, do not pick the flakes at all; let them come off on their own. If a flake comes off prematurely, you risk having a gap of missing pigment. If your brows itch during the healing process, you can tap or pat your brows with clean hands; do not scratch them.
Try to avoid sleeping on your side or face. If you are a side sleeper, it is recommended to roll up a t-shirt or hand towel to wedge between your chin and shoulder to avoid your brows resting on your pillow. Another precaution to take would be to sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase to avoid any friction on your brows if they were to end up on your pillow.
Do not allow hot water on your brows, and avoid any steam. You can still take a comfortably warm shower, but it is recommended to leave the bathroom vent on to avoid steam, and keep your head tilted back so warm/hot water does not touch your brows.
Do not have any product or makeup in/on your brows other than the aftercare products given to you. This includes haircare, makeup, and skin care. Be mindful of hair products such as hairspray and dry shampoo. You can wash your face and apply makeup from the eyes down like normal, and be very cautious on your forehead and between your brows.
Do not allow foundation and any powder products to accidentally get in your brows. Do not allow any pet har, dander, or saliva in your brows during healing. Be aware of the possibility of this happening if any pets sleep with you. All of this goes for little human pets as well.
Do not allow anything abrasive on your brows during healing such as towels, wash cloths, clothes while getting dressed, etc.
TO HELP MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF YOUR BROWS
Avoid any sun exposure without sunscreen on your brows. SPF 30+ is recommended, and sunscreen in makeup or skin care is typically not sufficient. Make sure to reapply your sunscreen often throughout the day. Not protecting your brows from the sun or tanning bed will fade your brows quicker and has the potential to alter the color of the pigment.
Avoid any anti-aging, anti-acne, or exfoliating products on your brows; they can all cause faster fading. If getting a facial, chemical peel, etc., let the service provider know you have had your brows done and to avoid with any active ingredients. Ingredients to avoid Include (but may not be limited to): retinol, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid.
Once your brows are healed, you are welcome to remove any stray brow hairs outside of your brows (or even the rogue or the pesky white/gray hairs within the shape.) You can get your brows waxed or threaded as well. After you have had your initial appointment and 6-12 week touch up, there is not a set time that you will need to come back to get your brows done. As long as you are still happy with your brows, you do not need to come back. At least 50% fading is required before coming back. In the future if you wish to completely alter the style and/or shape of your brows, you may need your brows to fade even more than 50%, or you may need to consider laser removal before starting fresh again

Mircoblading is done with a small blade, tiny cuts are made into the skin and pigment is scrubbed in. This type of brow is still very realistic but is NOT suitable for all skin types.
Nano is done with a machine and tiny needle, pigment is deposited into the skin through tiny scratches. These tiny scratches are more four dimensional creating a hyper realistic brow. This method has less trauma and is suitable for all skin types- granted you are a candidate for PMU.

I have never had a client say there is "pain." It has been described as a scratch, annoying, a vibration and even a tickle. More often than not clients will fall asleep

When you arrive I will go over your consents, take a photo of your ID.
We will then go over your needs, what you are looking for and any inspirational photos you brought. Once we agree on a game plan I will take before photos.
Next I will clean the brow area and begin mapping. Sometime mapping can be the longest part of this process. Once mapping is finished and you give the green light on the shape I will draw out the bones of the brow and get started with the tattoo portion.
I will walk you through each part of the brow while I work. Once the brow is even in initial saturation I will then apply a numbing agent. I'll repeat this on the other side as well. Typically 3-4 passes over each brow then we are done!
I'll show you the final work, take after pictures, go over the aftercare kit and schedule next appointments.
Healing on AVERAGE is 14 days, BUT the healing process will be however long it takes YOU to heal. Each person heals differently. With that being said, it is possible for you to finish before 14 days or possibly take longer than 14 days.
